Overseas training at National United University in Taiwan

For 4 weeks from August 10th to September 10th, 12 students of Ube Kosen (1 student of the 1st grade of the Advanced Course, 6 students of the 4th grade of the Regular Course, and 5 students of the 3rd grade of the Regular Course) joined an overseas training at National United University in Taiwan the same as last year.
This training was hosted by Ube Kosen, but not only from Ube Kosen, but also 2 students from the 2nd grade of the Regular Course of Kochi Kosen, and 1 student from the 2nd grade of the Advanced Course of Tsuyama Kosen joined this training by International Exchange Consortium of Chugoku・Shikoku districts. Also at the same time, 11 students from Kisarazu Kosen joined the training.

On the first day of the training, some students from the volunteer club of National United University in Taiwan came to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to pick up. They supported the students of Ube Kosen during their staying Taiwan. They showed the laboratories and the place to eat to the students of Ube Kosen, and guided to short trips to Taipei on weekends.

On the second day, the students learned how to introduce themselves in the first Chinese lesson. Then an opening ceremony of this overseas training was held by National United University in Taiwan. After Mr. Tung-Hu Tsai, the president of National United University in Taiwan, and Mr. Wen-cheng Liu, the head of International Affairs Office, made greetings, each teacher from Kisarazu, Ube and Niihama Kosen made greetings. At the end, each student from Kisarazu, Ube, Kochi, Niihama, Tsuyama Kosen, and a student of international volunteer club at National United University in Taiwan made greetings.
The students from Ube Kosen and the other Kosen introduced themselves in English or Chinese they have just learned.

In the afternoon, the students broke into each department and met their teachers who would teach them for 3 weeks. Then they started their researches in full swing. The students of Ube Kosen also were assigned to the mechanical, electrical, or business department. In the training, not only teachers but also students at National United University in Taiwan supported the students of Ube Kosen as a tutor, so they were able to have fulfilling time of research activities.

This is the second overseas training with National United University, and we can mutually send and accept students and have a training between National United University and Ube Kosen. Our student exchange are getting active more and more.
