On Tuesday, August 4, six international students from Taiwan and Vietnam presented their research results, marking the conclusion of their program that lasted for approximately one month at our college.
Three students from National United University conducted research on cultural differences in corporate strategies between Taiwan and Japan (under the guidance of Professors Tsutomu Ito and Chen). They presented their findings based on their analyses of the food service, software, and hardware industries, respectively.

Three students from Vietnamese institutions—Cao Thang Technical College, Hue Industrial College, and the College of Commerce and Industry—worked on building robots for environmental or chemical engineering applications and for a competition in Vietnam this September (under the guidance of Professors Nakano, Okamoto, and Yoshida). They reported their progress on various technical challenges, including robot control and operation, positioning systems, and mechanisms for collecting microplastic waste.

The presence of these international students encouraged cross-cultural exchanges on campus and served as a source of inspiration for other students. While they primarily focused on research, they engaged extensively with Japanese students through various activities, including a cross-cultural bus tour. Their overseas training program at Ube Kosen appears to have been a highly rewarding experience.
