Universiti Teknologi MARA
3rd year of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering
Ms. Mayu Okuda
I went to study English to Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia from Aug 19/2017 to Sep 18/ 2017.
Visited Putra Mosque, wearing Hijab
It was not a class that I sat at desk and studied grammar in the classroom. The classes I had were practical and exciting. One of the classes, we taught our traditional dance each other, and we did “Soran Bushi”. I felt like our hearts became as one over the boarder of countries when we danced and sang together. We looked at each other and smiled when we finished dancing, we were all out of breath.
At Putra Mosque with Malaysian friends
Local students took me many places after school. The most memorable place for me was a chapel. It was such a beautiful scene that Islam people prayed.
I learned it was important to experience things by myself after staying in Malaysia. I couldn’t communicate in English first, but I managed to communicate by making gestures after recognizing English was a tool of language. I was very excited when I could communicate in English, not only I had knowledge of it.
I strongly recommend to study English abroad if you are interested.
