The 10th Annual English Presentation Contest for Students in Colleges of Technology was held at National Olympics Memorial Youth Center on January 28th and 29th.
The team of Ube Kosen (Mr. Nakamura, Mr. Fukunaga, and Mr. Yoneshiro, from 4th grade of the department of Intelligent System Engineering) entered a category of presentation, and they won a special award, called “COCET Award”.
“COCET Award” was chosen by the chairman of The Council of College English Teachers.

The contest has a presentation category and a speech category, and it is held every January to contribute to improving a skill of English expression of students of National Institutes of Technology throughout the country, and fostering of international-minded engineers. In the presentation category, 10 teams entered this contest getting through the prejudging.
The presentation of the team of Ube Kosen was “Designing a Better Bike-Parking System”.
They improved the current situation of the disorganized bike-parking area at their school through having a questionnaire and some experiments, and they presented what they learned from the experience.
