At a Chinese language class
On September 6th, a course completion presentation of Chinese language training was held at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, which Ube Kosen has concluded an academic exchange agreement with, in Taiwan.
This training was as a place to practice student teaching for the students of the department of Applied Chinese at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages (the students aim to become a Chinese teacher), and also as a collaborative study on Chinese language education for the teachers of both Ube Kosen and Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages. This training was the second time following last year.
For 10 days from August 28th, 5 students of Ube Kosen, 3 students of Niihama Kosen, and 3 students of University of Kochi joined this training. They got Chinese language training from the morning to 3 p.m., and researched their own assignment which they decided by themselves beforehand in consultation with their tutors.
The themes of their researches were “The characteristics of the night market in Taiwan”, “The Characteristics of the buildings in Taiwan”, “Comparison of Seven Eleven in Japan with in Taiwan”, “A homosexual culture in Taiwan”, and so on.
The students reported their result of the research in English or Chinese at a course completion presentation.
After the presentation, the farewell party was held.
It was a short term training, but they could deeply interact with the tutors and the students who taught them Chinese.

I learned basic grammar and pronunciation of Chinese language in this training. I was worried if I could keep up with the lesson in English, but our teacher used games and gestures to teach, so I could enjoy learning in the class.
I’ll use this experience in my school life from now on, and learn Chinese more.

I could experience many things in this 2 weeks training. And I could make lots of memories with the students of Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, Ube kosen, and Kochi University. The forefront of my concern was my life in Taiwan, but I helped with each other and could enjoy in Taiwan.
Also, the students of Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages took us many places to see, and I could talked with many people there. That was a memorable experience for me.
I learned how important communication was, and got more interested in overseas. This training broaden my horizons for the future, so I was really happy to join this training.
