On Friday, July 19, 2024, an after-school farewell party was held at the Pelican Cafeteria, organized by the International Exchange Division of our Student Council. Approximately 30 students from Ube National College of Technology participated and enjoyed making memories with the short-term exchange students who had been staying at our school since late last month, some of whom were scheduled to return to their home countries the following week.
In the opening remarks, Vice Principal Hatamura spoke in English, emphasizing the value of cultural exchange through the experiences of students who had studied in Taiwan last year. Both groups of students listened attentively.
Thereafter, all participants participated in a team-based “Ishin Denshin” (telepathy) game. The rules were explained clearly in English by the student organizers. For example, even with a simple topic like “Japanese manga,” students from both countries tried coming up with as many shared answers as possible and were often surprised by unexpected responses.
