Each participant had their own independent research project and had been preparing it for several months prior to departure. In Taiwan, students conducted on-site investigations mainly after class, visiting local hotspots with the support of student tutors from the Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages. They explored the sites through observation, hands-on experiences, and tasting local food, dedicating themselves to their research.

Learning Chinese while communicating in English also provides students with a valuable opportunity to appreciate the linguistic diversity and practical use of languages. On the final day of the program, students presented the results of their independent research. After introducing themselves in Chinese, they confidently delivered their presentations in English to the teachers and tutors who supported them throughout the program.
