15 students joined a language training at Newcastle University in Australia from August 20th to September 25th.

The students received training of English language courses (ELICOS) at the Language Center belonging to Newcastle University. Not only the students from Ube Kosen, but also many students from China, Korea, Vietnam, and Middle East joined the training. So the students were able to be exposed to diverse cultures there, and it stimulated the students.

Not only studying at school, but also the students could direct experience a life in Australia at their homestay. It was a great experience for them to see our life in Japan in a different angle.

As a new approach for this year, the students practiced giving a presentation at the Language Center during their language trainings for a debrief session in English at Ube Kosen after they came back to Japan. By giving a presentation in front of the other foreign students who are learning at the Language Center, it was hoped that the students’ motivation could be increased.
