The 12th Ube Kosen Techno Café Seminar, “A cooperation lecture by SAIKYO Bank”

On May 27th, 2016, the 12th Techno Café Seminar was held at multimedia study room at Ube Kosen. This time, a cooperation lecture titled “Banking theory” by SAIKYO Bank, which has held for the students of the department Business Administration since 2014, was held as Techno Café Seminar. 30 students of 5th grade of the department of Business Administration, 3 person from outside of school, 5 staff of the school participated the seminar. The theme of the lecture was “Community-based finance, and small and medium-sized companies’ expanding to developing Asian countries”.

At the beginning, Mr. Tatsuo Senda, the general manager of Regional Revitalization of Regional cooperation Department SAIKYO Bank, talked titled “What is Community-based Finance? -Regional Financial Institutes’ efforts-”. He talked about the efforts of SAIKYO Bank, such as sport promotion, tourism fund, healthcare supports, sixth sector industrialization supports, and startup classes. The students were surprised at the diversity of the work at SAIKYO Bank.

Next, Mr. Fumihiko Yamanaka, the manager of Asia Business Support Office of Regional cooperation Department SAIKYO Bank, talked titled “The current state of developing countries in Asia and Japanese companies’ expanding -for entry to the Asian market-”.

Mr. Yamanaka works to support local small and medium-sized companies expanding to south-eastern Asia. Based on his experiences, he introduced us some conditions to success overseas expansion and told how hard and interesting overseas businesses were. In his speech, he showed that not all products can be sold even if Japanese companies just can make high-quality products.

The students of the department of Business and Administration are learning this development of market or marketing, the lecture was highly regarded by the students and they had various feedback and questions.
