令和5年1月18日（水）、マラ工科大学からの短期留学生7名のフェアウェルパーティーを実施し、23名が参加しました。この企画は、短期留学生を送る機会として親交の深い学生や寮生を交えて学生会国際交流部が主催したものです。

はじめに、堀部有希さん（物質工学科3年）から英語であいさつがあり、その後3か月間の思い出にあふれたショートムービーを上映しました。
その後、箸を使ったゲームやトランプの神経衰弱ゲームをして楽しみました。
箸を使ったゲームでは、日本人学生は利き手を使わないルールがあったものの、短期留学生の方がスムーズに箸でティッシュを移動させることができ、一同驚いていました。神経衰弱ではお菓子をかけて真剣勝負をしていましたが、短期留学生が答えを優しく教えるなど、微笑ましい場面もありました。

最後に、短期留学生にお菓子ブーケを渡して、全員で記念撮影をしました。

国際交流部では、短期・長期留学生や日本人学生によるクリスマスパーティや、日本の文化を体験するイベントを企画運営しています。英語だけではなく日本語も適宜使いながら交流していますので、興味のある学生は思いきって参加してみてください。とても良い経験ができると思います。

今回、マラの短期留学生に3ヶ月の感謝の気持ちを込めて送別会を行いました。
私は今回初めて送別会の企画を考え、司会を担当しました。どのようなことをしたら喜んでもらえるか、素敵な形で思い出を残すにはどうしたらいいかなどを考え、思い出ムービーとお菓子ブーケを作り、日本らしいものを使ったゲームを行いました。みんなで協力しながら作った思い出ムービーは、3ヶ月間のたくさんの思い出が詰まっており、素敵なものとなりました。思い出が動画という形に残って良かったです。お菓子ブーケは初の試みで作れるかどうか不安な部分もありましたが、みんなの協力もあり可愛いお菓子ブーケを作ることができました。マラの短期留学生に渡した時、とても喜んでくれて嬉しかったです。また、日本らしいものを使ったゲームをしたいなと思い、箸を使ったゲームを考えました。
マラの短期留学生は学生に負けないくらい箸の使い方がとても上手で驚きました。マレーシアに帰っても日本のことを忘れないよう時々箸を使ってご飯を食べてみて欲しいです。
3ヶ月間マラの短期留学生からたくさん学ぶことがあり、多くの貴重な経験をすることができました。感謝の気持ちとして最後に送別会に携われて本当に良かったです。送別会に参加してくれた学生の方々、参加していただきありがとうございました。

Konnichiwa minasan! 20th Jan 2023 marked the culmination of the 3 months Research Attachment and Cultural Exchange Program for me and my other 6 friends in NITUC. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to JASSO and National Institute of Technology, Ube College (NITUC) for the wonderful and meaningful 3 months.
During my research attachment program, I spent most of the time in my supervisor’s office and working on completing my research with guidance from my supervisor (Prof. Shinya Tagawa). I could not be more thankful to have Tagawa Sensei as my supervisor. He greatly aids me with data collection as my sample covers the Public Listed Company in Japan. Despite having hectic days at the KOSEN, Tagawa Sensei made time for me, took me out to the famous sushi restaurant, and even prepared a special christmas celebration for me. Under his supervision, on 19th Jan 2023 I successfully presented my research to NITUC before returning to Malaysia the following day.
Another fascinating part of our day in Ube Kosen is the cultural exchange program. We have been invited to participate in a few after-school activities, including the Global Literature Club every Monday, the English Ni-halo every Tuesday and Japanese Ni-Hello every Thursday. These programmes are the most awaited event for us every week. All the activities are organized and coordinated by a few senseis (Kakinuma Sensei, Siti Sensei and Hatamura Sensei), which also involves Japanese and other international students as well. These activities really do provide us an opportunity to fit in with all the students and while also developing our Nihongo and knowledge of Japanese culture. We also had a chance to join the school trip to some of Japan’s most well-known spots, such as Hiroshima Prefecture, Miyajima Island, and around Yamaguchi Prefecture. The vacation was incredibly spectacular and opened our eyes and mind to Japan’s stunning culture, scenery and architecture.
Every experience I had during 3 months in Japan taught me a lot and significantly improved my ability to succeed in my future endeavors. Yes it is true, studying abroad is one of the best ways of altering the way we view the world because our wonderful life begins at the end of our comfort zone. Arigatou gozaimasu minasan, suki da yo.
