令和6年12月18日（水）、ナンヤンポリテクニック（NYP）の短期留学生4名のcertificate授与式を行いました。

令和6年12月13日（金）には、U-Camp International Conference内でNYP学生による研究報告会があり、各専門学科の指導教員の下で10月から12月まで3ヵ月に渡る研究に取り組んだ成果を発表しました。

宇部高専では、専門分野の研究のみならず、宇部高専学生との交流を通じて、日本の文化や習慣などを経験する良い機会になりました。将来は、日本とシンガポールの架け橋となる人材になることに期待しています。

I have had a fantastic experience at Ube Kosen. The students are bright and genuinely curious, making every interaction enjoyable. I also appreciate how kind and supportive the sensei and my lab colleagues are—they are always willing to help and share their expertise. I’ve been working on experimental research involving Al-B4C-SiC Cermet using spark plasma sintering, which has been fascinating. This project has really expanded my understanding of advanced materials and manufacturing processes. Working together on research projects has been a highlight for me, and I’m grateful to be part of such a vibrant academic community. This experience has not only advanced my research skills but also showed me the value of a collaborative, supportive academic environment.

Conducting research at Ube Kosen has been an enriching journey, exploring a new field of research in AI object detection. Working in a different environment with other Japanese students has inspired me to achieve more and boosted my creativity. It has also been meaningful to interact with Japanese students and other long-term exchange students. I learned more about other nations in addition to Japan. Engaging in Ni-halo international exchange activities like playing sports, Japanese board games, and even cooking foreign cuisine has been an enjoyable experience. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to take part in the school’s cultural festival, which was an event I will never forget. The energy, creativity, and collaboration of the students truly brought the event to life, making it both fun and inspiring. Thank you for the amazing three months I spent here. I’m glad to have made many friends in Ube Kosen. Hope to see you again!

宇部高専での研究活動は、AI物体検出という新しい研究分野を探求する充実した旅でした。日本の学生たちと異なる環境で作業することは、私にさらなる目標を達成するインスピレーションを与え、創造力を高めてくれました。また、日本の学生や他の長期留学生と交流することは非常に有意義で、日本についてだけでなく他の国々についても多くを学びました。スポーツや日本のボードゲーム、さらには外国料理を作るといったNi-haloの国際交流活動に参加することは、とても楽しい経験でした。さらに、高専祭にも参加する機会を得ました。このイベントは私にとって忘れられないものとなりました。学生たちのエネルギー、創造力、そして協力がイベントを本当に活気あるものにしてくれ、楽しくもあり刺激的でもありました。この素晴らしい3か月間を過ごさせていただき、本当に感謝しています。宇部高専で多くの友達ができたことを嬉しく思います。またいつかお会いできることを楽しみにしています！
