茶道部では、毎年、希望に応じて留学生に茶道を体験する機会を提供しています。今年度は7月に2回、12月に1回、台湾からの短期留学生が茶道部の活動に参加しました。
7月は、秋の高専祭でのお茶席で行う形式に合わせて立礼[りゅうれい]式（テーブルと椅子を使ってお点前を行う方法）で、12月は畳の上でお茶を点てる通常のお点前で実施しました。茶道の一連の作法を通して、日本の伝統文化体験を楽しみました。

12月に参加した留学生のコメント
I sit in a seiza position on the tatami floor, but I am not used to sitting like that. My legs felt sore quickly. Before drinking the tea, I ate a delicious Japanese sweet. Then, the teacher taught me some manners about drinking the greet tea. I was surprised and respected about the manners. Everything had its own meaning, such as how to sit in front of the guests and where should I put the bowl. To sum up, it was a special and wonderful experience for me. Thank you for giving us this opportunity.（Carolさん）
It was my first time to experience a tea ceremony. Because I couldn’t understand Japanese, I could only observe the sensei’s body movements and expressions to guess what she wanted to say. Thanks to the two teachers! I’m glad I had this opportunity to experience all the tea ceremony rituals. In addition to tasting desserts, I also learned the process of brewing a cup of tea. Even tasting hot tea has its rules. This experience reminded me that the extended meaning of the movie 《日日是好日》is to live in the present moment and also いちごいちえ! If given the chance, I would experience it again!（Milaさん）
茶道部の活動の一環として、今後もこうした国際交流を行っていきます。
茶道部の活動紹介
茶道部では、課外活動指導員の二木先生・前田先生の指導のもと、高専祭でのお茶席に向けて、週1～2回お点前の練習をしています。稽古を通して、美味しいお抹茶やお菓子を味わえるだけでなく、和室での立ち居振る舞いや四季折々の器、生花、掛け物、着物の着付けなど、茶室の基礎知識や基本的な所作・作法を学ぶことができます。
今年度は、初めての取り組みとして、2月9日（金）に宇部市男女共同参画センター「フォーユー」の和室を借りてお茶会を行いました（男子のお点前と丸卓のお点前の2回）。本格的な茶室での、席入から退席までの稽古や畳下の炉のお点前など、普段できないお茶会の稽古ができました。煙草盆や蓋のついた主菓子器といった、学校での活動ではあまり使わない道具の扱い方も学ぶことができました。
これからも、このような日本の伝統文化に親しめる茶道部の活動を充実させていきます。今後ともご指導・ご支援の程どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。
